Role Purpose Statement

The Production Control Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of catering operations. This position is responsible for monitoring production schedules, coordinating with multiple departments, and ensuring that airline customer requirements are met accurately and on time. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong organizational skills, and enjoys problem-solving under pressure.

Main Accountabilities

  • Daily Coordination: Lead and participate in daily team meetings to align priorities and communicate updates.

  • Shift Readiness: Ensure workstations are properly set up at the start of each shift and maintained throughout.

  • Operational Excellence: Monitor and enforce Gold Standards in production processes.

  • Food Safety: Verify that all food items are properly dated and rotated according to FIFO standards.

  • Team Accountability: Ensure team members arrive on time, follow uniform guidelines, and use equipment correctly.

  • Documentation: Create, maintain, and update department production paperwork and operational databases.

  • Process Improvement: Support the implementation of LEAN processes and ensure ongoing adherence across the department.

  • Compliance Oversight: Guarantee compliance with all regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP) and maintain accurate logs.

  • Customer Feedback: Review and share Internal Feedback Loop (IFBL) data and flight attendant comments with teams to drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and maintain operational efficiency.

  • Flexibility: Perform other duties as assigned to support overall department success.


 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED (additional education a plus).

  • 1–3 years of administrative experience, preferably in operations or logistics.

  • Familiarity with airline-specific database systems (LINK, CBASE, ACE) is highly desirable.

  • A strong sense of urgency and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and lead in a multicultural workplace.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented approach to work.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
