Role Purpose Statement

The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the transportation team to ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of airline catering and related services. This role ensures compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and customer requirements, while leading and supporting drivers and transport staff to achieve operational excellence. By maintaining high standards for service, safety, and teamwork, the Transportation Supervisor plays a key role in supporting on-time airline departures and customer satisfaction. This position is based in the heart of Des Plaines at 200 E Touhy Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60018.

Main Accountabilities

• Lead, schedule, and supervise transportation staff to meet operational and safety goals

• Monitor fleet operations to ensure on-time, accurate, and secure deliveries to aircraft

• Enforce DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations at all times

• Coordinate with operations, warehouse, and airline partners to resolve service issues quickly

• Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and driver performance

• Conduct training, coaching, and performance evaluations for team members

• Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles and equipment

• Respond to operational challenges and implement solutions to prevent service disruptions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in transportation, logistics, or related field

• Experience in airline catering or airport operations a plus

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance standards

• Proficiency with scheduling systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

• Physical ability to work in a ramp/warehouse environment and lift up to 50 lbs
