Role Purpose Statement
Main Accountabilities

HR Operations & Compliance
- Support the implementation and day-to-day administration of Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs for both union and non-union employees across the Customer Service Center (CSC) and/or local operational units (e.g., Airline Ramp Handling, Catering Operations).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to administer employee benefits, wage increases, leave programs, retirement plans, and other HR programs.
Labor Relations & Employee Relations
- Serve as first-line HR contact and liaison for union-represented and non-union employees, addressing employee concerns, grievances, and workplace issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the administration and documentation of grievance procedures under the Master National Agreement (MNA), including investigations, meetings, and recordkeeping.
- Support management in fostering positive labor relations and maintaining consistent application of policies and contractual obligations.
- Attend unemployment hearings and other employment-related proceedings as required.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead high-volume hourly recruitment efforts to support operational staffing needs in a 24/7 airline catering environment.
- Source, recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates for frontline and support roles, ensuring adherence to safety and compliance requirements.
- Develop and execute staffing plans aligned with seasonal demand, flight schedules, and operational growth.
- Analyze recruitment and retention data to improve hiring quality, reduce turnover, and expand effective recruiting pipelines and community partnerships.
Training, Engagement & Development
- Deliver and/or facilitate company-required, CSC-specific, and compliance-related training programs, including onboarding and operational readiness training.
- Support the planning and rollout of employee engagement initiatives designed to improve retention, morale, and performance within a diverse, frontline workforce.
- Partner with leadership to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Safety & Auditing
- Assist with DOT random drug and alcohol testing programs, as well as company non-DOT pre-employment drug screening processes.
- Support audits of clerical and HR administrative activities to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with miscellaneous HR projects, reporting, and special assignments as business needs require.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- One to four years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a unionized, manufacturing, transportation, food production, or aviation environment.
Core Competencies
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, labor relations principles, and their practical application in a fast-paced operational setting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of effectively interacting with employees, union representatives, and all levels of management.
- Team-oriented professional with demonstrated leadership capability and a high level of integrity.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays, as required by airline operations.
Certifications
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
