Role Purpose Statement
The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) acts as a strategic partner and trusted advisor between the IT organization and business units. This role is responsible for fostering strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to deeply understand business needs, priorities, and pain points. By aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals, the BRM ensures that IT delivers maximum value, drives operational efficiency, and enables innovation and sustainable growth. The BRM also plays a critical role in shaping IT strategy, advocating for business capabilities, and identifying opportunities where technology can create competitive advantage.
Main Accountabilities
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and designated business units.
- Understand business processes, objectives, and challenges to proactively identify technology opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for IT solutions.
- Advocate for business needs within the IT organization, prioritizing initiatives that deliver measurable business value.
- Manage the intake and demand process, helping business units navigate IT governance and project lifecycles.
- Collaborate with external clients to align project plans and ensure seamless execution.
- Facilitate regular meetings, business reviews, and status updates with stakeholders.
- Support development of IT roadmaps and ensure alignment with business strategies.
- Track and report on the value and performance of IT initiatives in the business area.
- Support project teams with financial tracking and project progress reporting to maintain transparency and control.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in IT-business alignment and service delivery.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in IT, business analysis, or relationship management roles.
- Proven success in managing business partnerships and delivering IT solutions.
- Experience with enterprise applications, project management, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Occasional domestic travel for facility visits
