Role Purpose Statement

The Dispatcher serves as the central information source for the Customer Service Center. This role is responsible for operating the dispatch center and providing critical updates regarding aircraft equipment changes, shortages, substitutions, and other operational requirements. The Dispatcher ensures accurate prioritization of catering activities, tracks and documents all flights, and facilitates smooth communication between internal teams, drivers, and the customer. This position requires a strong ability to manage real-time changes, maintain detailed records, and ensure that operational standards are met consistently and efficiently.

Main Accountabilities

    • Interpret and apply flight specifications accurately.

    • Comprehend and communicate menu and flight galley specifications.

    • Serve as a key communication link between internal teams, drivers, and the customer.

    • Report arrival, departure, gate information, and flight cancellations in real time.

    • Prioritize and determine the order in which all flights must be catered.

    • Monitor equipment changes, late flights, and gate changes; adjust dispatch plans accordingly.

    • Track, assign, and re-assign flights to ensure on-time performance.

    • Document and track all aircraft nose numbers, arrivals, and departures.

    • Ensure drivers follow proper procedures for call-offs, first-class (F/C), economy (Y/C), seal checks, and block outs.

    • Cover shifts as needed and handle last-minute schedule adjustments.

    • Record all equipment changes, special specifications, and charters for the following day’s operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Qualifications

  • Airline industry experience, preferably in ramp operations.

  • Prior dispatch experience strongly preferred.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Fluency in English required.

  • Proficiency with computer systems and dispatch software.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and composure.

  • Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.

  • Flexibility with scheduling, including varying start times and days off.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.

  • Must be flexible to support irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays, in line with airline operations.
