Role Purpose Statement

Performs standard purchasing tasks to procure assigned supplies, equipment, materials and parts and services for CSCs of Indirect Procurement.

Main Accountabilities

• Research products/services and associated cost of suppliers to find the supplier who meets specification of the CSC
• Assist with coordinating purchasing details with vendor to include pricing revisions, order cancellations, establishing discontinued items and acceptable substitutes, back orders, delivery date revisions, invoice discrepancies, etc.
• Reviews quotations with superiors before award for price, delivery and quantity
• Use knowledge of available products and inventory levels to guide CSCs toward standardized products and service
• Negotiate and evaluate quotes and insure specifications and pricing are competitive by obtaining quotes from competing vendors
• Coordinate waste removal grease traps, absorbents, lighting, oils, and includes weekly environmental checks/reports
• Research/Coordinate purchase of fuels and oils
• Schedule/ Coordinate kitchen vent hood cleaning
• Review/Download reports (department hours, fuel, purchase orders, maintenance purchasing)
• Review/Coordinate with Maintenance personnel on available parts to make timely repairs
• Review weekly budget to minimize spending and meet monthly target goals

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Flexibility to cover different shifts if needed
• Ability to lift/push a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme and varying temperatures
• Strong mathematical, analytical, verbal, written interpersonal and organizational skills
• Proficient in using computer and basic software such as Microsoft
• Ability to work in a 24/7 environment with varying work schedules as needed, including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
