Role Purpose Statement

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Cold Food Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys leading a team dedicated to delivering high-quality chilled food products to our customers. This individual will oversee cold food preparation operations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, maintaining product integrity, and engaging employees in all safety and performance initiatives.

Main Accountabilities

Supervisor Responsibility

  • Oversee daily cold food production activities, ensuring proper organization, staffing, and adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Conduct daily team huddles to communicate goals, safety reminders, and production priorities.
  • Schedule and manage staff to meet labor productivity and minimize overtime while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, OSHA, HACCP, GMP, and company-specific food safety protocols.
  • Monitor temperature controls and storage conditions to maintain product freshness and prevent contamination.
  • Document and review department processes to identify and implement continuous improvements.
  • Guarantee on-time and accurate assembly of cold food items for catering and flight services.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and hygiene practices in cold food handling areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational excellence.

Leadership

  • Inspire, coach, and develop team members within company policies and procedures.
  • Promote company values and management principles within the department.
  • Monitor productivity and cost metrics; take corrective action when deviations occur.
  • Champion company initiatives such as Quality Assurance, HACCP compliance, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and continuous improvement programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience in food production or cold food operations preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA, EPA regulations, and HACCP principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in temperature-sensitive environments.
