Role Purpose Statement
Administrative position to ensure compliance with customer, USDA, FDA and Seafood HACCP Plans, printing and verifying ingredient labels for all products in accordance with specifications, product food safety, legality, quality, and USDA/FDA/HACCP standards.
Main Accountabilities
- Monthly checks on ingredient label verification and comparisons to current retail labels
- Submit, obtain, and file new vendor / supplier approvals
- Coordinate microbiological testing per customer protocol
- Update and distribute all updates to specifications and recipes
- Generate new or updated QA at-line quality check sheet
- Update all Manuals according to changes or revisions, product list/ingredient lists and signage within facility as needed
- Maintaining all QA personnel Manuals for recipe, step by step processing with current labeling and daily ingredient log
- Assist with customer audits as needed
- Labeling development and formatting for new products or label changes, verification of daily preprinted labels, and troubleshooting of label printers, and review of QA labels reconciliation Manual
- Update USDA and FDA Manuals regarding Allergen matrix
- Maintain QA ‘Hold’ tracking log with final dispositions and complete respective reports
- Monthly Retail label verifications per Corporate programs
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent Communication skills written/verbal (Bi-lingual (Spanish and English)) preferred but not required
- Computer knowledge and proficient in use of various software
- Previous food industry experience a plus
- Ability to work in cold environment
- Ability to work with minimum to no supervision
- Ability to lift/push a minimum of 20 lbs as needed
- Strong mathematical, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups of people
