Role Purpose Statement

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Global Quality System for LSG Sky Chefs. This role ensures that the Customer Service Center (CSC) operates in full compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and food safety programs, including FDA, USDA, and Seafood HACCP guidelines. The position safeguards adherence to all applicable federal regulations and internal quality protocols, driving consistency, safety, and excellence across operations.

Work Schedule: 04:45 AM -1:30 PM, must be able to work preop as Scheduled (rotating coverage starting at 01:00 AM).

Main Accountabilities

  • Recordkeeping & KPIs: Maintain and initiate documentation of quality metrics, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Daily oversight of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP logs, and other regulatory documentation.
  • Label & Temperature Verification: Confirm accuracy of product labels and monitor cooler, freezer, and finished product temperatures for compliance.
  • Microbiological Testing: Perform environmental swabs, collect raw materials and finished products, and submit samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Recipe & Portion Control: Verify menu recipes against gold standards and ensure portion weights meet specifications.
  • Inspection Activities: Conduct dispatch, bonded/non‑bonded, equipment checks, and operational/pre‑operational sanitary inspections.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and address quality, food safety, and sanitation issues to drive process enhancements.
  • Additional Duties: Carry out other tasks as assigned to support departmental goals.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge

    • FDA, USDA, HACCP standards and food safety regulations.
    • ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
    • Auditing principles, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies.

    Skills

    • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting and training.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QA tools.
    • Ability to manage documentation and compliance activities under tight deadlines.
    • Problem-solving and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments.

    Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Food Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 2–4 years in quality assurance, compliance, or auditing within food production or regulated environments.
    • Preferred certifications: HACCP, ASQ CQA/CQE.
    • Experience with regulatory audits and maintaining compliance in high-volume operations.
